Guggul is the name of an incense and herbal extractive from the Commiphora wightii tree, a relative of myrrh who also produces a sticky solid resin that can be purified from the tree's sap. Guggul in addition to being a pungent natural incense, also is an effective thyroid stimulant, increasing the synthesis of the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine (T3).

Recommended amount per dose is 500-2000 mg, or 1-4 filled size '00' capsules, one to three times daily or as needed.

Guggul is a very medicinal plant, being utilized in Ayurvedic medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties, for its cholesterol reducing profile, detoxifying nature, immune system enhancing, or for its thyroid stimulating effects. Guggul has thousands of years of historical use, and its effects are numbered almost near as much.

Guggul stimulates the activity of the thyroid. It should not be taken by those with hyperthyroidism, and it can potentiate the effects of thyroid medications and stimulants.

Do not consume without knowing an accurate dosage. A milligram scale is highly recommended.
