Jiaogulan is an adaptogenic herb that nourishes all of the bodily systems and contains 82 known gypenosides, compounds closely related to those found in authentic Panax ginseng. Jiaogulan has been traditionally used to strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure & cholesterol, improve circulation, and has numerous anti-oxidants.
Curled leaves A+ grade
Jiaogulan is best brewed into tea, providing a slightly bitter-sweet taste similar but not as strong or sweet as stevia. Recommended dose 1-2 teaspoons or 2-4 grams per day. Higher doses are well tolerated and the leaves of jiaogulan are sometimes eaten in salad as a functional food.
Jiaogulan is not stimulatory or function like an aphrodisiac like red Panax ginseng, but does provide many of the same total body benefits that white ginseng & other adaptogens possess. The main benefit of Jiaogulan is longevity & as a general overall tonic for daily use. Jiaogulan has beneficial effects on the heart and it is described by the local inhabitants as the "immortality herb", because people within Guizhou Province, where jiaogulan herbal teas are consumed regularly, are said to have a history of unusual longevity.
