Juniper berries are a well known Native American treasure, hailing from the Pine family of trees, they have long been used as a flavoring additive and are the original spice used to flavor Gin. Juniper berries have a stimulating effect on the kidneys and encourage cleansing of toxins. The taste can be described as something between rosemary & citrus, with a hint of lime.

Juniper berries can be consumed straight, mixed into a drink or smoothie, effectively brewed in tea or tinctured, or used as a potent flavoring additive. Juniper has a tart piney flavor that blends well citrus, ginger, and cinnamon.

Juniper is a medicinal spice that is associated with the kidneys, having a dose dependent diuretic action which stimulates the excretion of toxins.

Do not consume Juniper berries in large amounts or regularly if you have any sort of kidney issue. Do not use while pregnant.
