N-Acetyl Cysteine

  • Product Type: Tinctures & Essential oils

Also known as
Acetylcysteine, NAC

NAC, also known as N-Acetyl Cysteine is an acetylated form of and metabolite of L-cysteine, an essential amino acid present in all living organisms. NAC is responsible for replenishing the body's stores of glutathione, one of the major endogenous antioxidants produced by cells, which is responsible for protecting the liver, the brain, the skin, and many other major bodily organs, with glutathione depletion coinciding with damage to these systems when stressed.

NAC is valued for its ability to increase circulating levels of antioxidants, especially those that are vital for reducing side effects that occur from liver toxins and heightened dopamine turnover, making the supplement ideal for those who drink alcohol, take opiates, or use amphetamine type stimulants.
