The white peony is a sweet smelling flower whose roots are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Paeoniflorin is a major bioactive ingredient isolated from white peony, which has activity as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, antipyretic, anti-anxiety, and antihistamine. Additionally, paeoniflorin has cardioprotective, neuroprotective, cognition supportive, and anti-aging effects.
