Echinacea is a well known plant that grows native in much of the middle United States & Canada. Its main use is that of an immune system stimulating tonic with muscle relaxing qualities.
Brew 1-3 grams in tea as a daily tonic for immune system support. Mix with honey & drink larger amount (3-9 grams) if recovering from a bout of illness.
Echinacea is a classic tonic for health & well-being and has been shown to stimulate the immune system through the endo-cannabinoid receptors, cb1 & cb2. Echinacea also shows action as a muscle relaxer in addition to being a well rounded tonic. Echinacea angustifolia is believed to be the stronger of the two species. The root of Echinacea angustifolia is more of an immune system stimulant while the whole plant of Purpurea (leaf & root) is more rounded & balances the immune system.
