Citrus x paradisi, Forbidden Fruit of Barbados
The Grapefruit is a recent addition to our world coming about in the 1700's and is believed to be a cross between a Pomelo and a Sweet Orange, however this has not been proven. Just as peculiar as it's origin is it's taste and phytochemical makeup, all playing their part in earning it the name 'Forbidden Fruit'.

The Grapefruit is a mysterious and delicious gift from the Earth and is still considered one of the 7 wonders of Barbados. It's name is derived not from it's taste, but rather from how the fruit grows clustering together like that of grapes.
