Gastrodia elata is a perennial herb in the Orchid family. It is found in Nepal, Bhutan, India, Japan. The root has been used in the Traditional Chinese system of Medicine for seizures, headache, dizziness, spasms, and stroke. Gastrodia is currently being investigated for use as a novel analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
