Riboflavin is an essential vitamin belonging to the B complex family. It cannot be synthesized by the body, so it must be derived from food, where it is found abundantly in eggs, green vegetables, milk, and meat. Deficiencies of riboflavin are rare, but do happen and can lead to a gradual deterioration of one's health. To prevent such issues, cereal grains are often reinforced with additional riboflavin, while the vitamin is also commonly taken as a dietary supplement.
Riboflavin is responsible for energy metabolism, has antioxidant properties, and is linked to the health of blood cells, metabolism, eyesight, skin health, aging, athletic performance, and the reduction of free radicals in the body.
Recommended amount per dose is 5-25 mg per day for normal supplementation. Do not consume without an accurate mg scale.
