Also known as
Vitamin K2, Menaquinone
Vitamin K2 is a lesser known vitamin which is derived through liver, fermented foods such as cheeses, and supplementation. Vitamin K2 is linked to bone strength and arterial health (reducing calcification or even decalcifying, with a possible reduction in blood pressure).
0.5% vitamin K2 bound to maltodextrin
Recommended amount per dose is 5-20 mg per day for normal supplementation. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Do not consume without an accurate mg scale.
Vitamin K2 was initially named 'Koagulationsvitamin', meaning "The vitamin of coagulation", owing to its interactions with the arteries and circulation. Vitamin K2 also works in tandem with vitamin D, helping the body utilize calcium efficiently, especially so for building and maintaining healthy teeth and bones. Vitamin K1 activates calcium-binding proteins involved in blood clotting, while K2 regulates where calcium ends up in the body.
Do not consume without knowing an accurate dosage. A milligram scale is highly recommended.
