Reishi is an ancient tonic mushroom claimed to be the key to immortality, wisdom, enlightenment, & spiritual growth. In China it was previously reserved specifically for emperors and forbidden from the modern citizen from consumption, its powers so revered. It is considered the premier 'Shen' tonic in the Traditional Chinese system of Medicine, which is roughly translated into 'spirit'. Modern day research shows Reishi is extremely effective at reducing inflammation, protecting the body during serious illness such as cancer, improving mood, calming & clearing a racing or troubled mind, & protecting the adrenal glands from stress. Many of these effects could be attributed to one mechanism of action that Reishi possesses, that of activating the 'endo-cannabinoid' system.
Constituents include an array of alkaloids, triterpine acids, ergosterols, fumaric acid, coumarins, lactone, mannitol, and many polysaccharides.
Certified organic: (Whole Red Reishi mushrooms);
Preservative free (Caps & stems, and powder, both black and red cultivars)
Break a 1-2" piece of the mushroom & add to a half liter of water, cooking on medium for 15-30 minutes. Reishi can be re-brewed multiple times to good effect. Reishi has a lot of compounds inside of it but you must heat the mushroom up to for a longer time than most herbs in order to break down the cell walls and release the healing compounds & polysaccharides. An effective way to use Reishi is too boil a few grams for 15 minutes and add your other herbs after with the heat off. If you think you can handle it, try chewing a small piece daily.
Reishi has a history in China as a 'Panacea' or cure-all, in the same regard as Panax ginseng. Reishi mushroom is vital for those seeking optimum health & peace of mind, its balancing action on the heart providing the very basis needed to support a free flowing state of relaxed energy, profound creativity, & uninterrupted awareness. Reishi is a supreme tonic herb and is recommended taken not just as needed to relax, but as a daily tonic to support wellness & sanctity of mind & soul.
In the Traditional Chinese system of Medicine, Red Reishi is linked more to the heart, while Black Reishi is linked more to the kidneys.
