Fo-ti root is a beneficial ally for nourishment and vitality, it has a mild estrogenic effect which helps balance testoterone levels and keep one feeling and looking young. Fo-ti has strong MAO-B (Monoamine oxidase B) inhibiting properties. MAO-B is what inactivates Dopamine, a vital neurotransmitter related to memory, focus, and learning. Youthfulness and low MAO-B levels have been linked and it is believed that by keeping MAO-B levels low, while keeping dopamine levels high, one can preserve their youth and vigor. Is it any wonder, that the Chinese have regarded Fo-ti as the fountain of youth?
