The Maitake mushroom is native to both Japan & North America, with a history of use in the Traditional Chinese system of Medicine. The name Maitake when translated from Japanese means "dancing mushroom". Maitake has the ability to regulate blood pressure, glucose, insulin, and both serum and liver lipids, such as cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipids, and may also be useful for weight loss.
